The post-war order was personal to me. Rule of law internally and among countries. Everyone matters. Imperfect but at least the right aspiration. Republicans want to destroy it out of greed and spite. A cog in the wheels of resistance.
Its on the Admiral for sure. Our military leaders are trained in the rules of war from their entry to the academy and regularly thereafter. If the facts are as reported the Admiral should go on trial for murder asap. Hegseth is an amateur and guilty as well, but hold the adult responsible also.

Why cant you believe it? Its true..not the only issue, but a big one. Dearborn. And every other person who thought gop would be better on Israel.

It will work because the admiral is guilty, assuming the facts as stated. The forces the admiral commands seem to have committed serious crimes, which in ww2 resulted in death sentences to Japanese soldiers. Whether he did it in response to Hegseth or not is immaterial.

If you voted for GOP, you voted for a literally crazy and evil dude blindly served by amoral toadies. It was obvious, proven by first term and Jan 6. No doubt GOP voters are getting what they wanted. All of this is on them. No excuses.
November 29, 2025 at 6:12 PM
This is the flawed thinking that helped get us here. Trump and his minions should be in jail for Jan 6, the Supreme Court should be expanded, and we should have DC a state. First defeat the enemy, then partner. See post WW2 Germany and Japan.

Unusual for you to have head in clouds about gop voters. They are getting what they want, and want more. Mass deportation of all “aliens” was promised, with concentration camps and violent suppression of any opposition. Gop voters and elites are the problem, hold them accountable.
November 27, 2025 at 6:55 PM
Thank you for placing the blame where it belongs - on the voters. Too often this critical truth is lost in the details of the awful behavior of representatives. The blame for Trump et al is on those who voted for republicans. They are getting what they wanted. Sad.

Lets stop pretending this is a victory. Trump will never release the files about him or his gop rich friends. Either he cant release due to ongoing investigations (fake ones he started) or DOJ will edit /has edited them to remove any harmful info and perhaps to create info harmful to democrats.

Trump is just a mentally twisted, ignorant torch carrier for a deeply morally deficient large segment of the us population. Him going may help a bit, but wont adddress the real problem. Vance, Rubio, Tucker…could be worse.

Revealing what was always there as constraints loosened and incentives changed. She was a Fox anchor, she had chosen her path long ago.

Shameful. Cave to bully. Loser.

voting most likely couldn’t stop fascist Germany, because the voters liked Hitler and conquering war and killing jews. It was still a fascist country, just a popular one. So Germany was a fascist illiberal non-democracy with popular support.
November 7, 2025 at 10:12 PM
I understand there are some “rule of law” demands as well. Ie you cant make a deal with someone who doesnt take constraints seriously. Can you do a post on this topic?
November 7, 2025 at 8:59 PM
In the admin, a lot are. Many more are just angry resentful no principals ambitious seekers. The voters are a collection of things - some like the folks in the administration, add in racists, misogynists, misled by their church/religion, old identity as gop, stupid and manipulated by Fox et al.
November 1, 2025 at 2:41 AM
Stop the false equivalence with gop! Trump’s behavior fully supported his words, completely. Its a different order of magnitude, not hard to see. Not defending the tatoo, but come on, you are too smart to be this foolish.

The larger the impact now the lower in the long term. Let GOP keep it shut forever. States rights can have a whole new meaning. Dem governors and legislatures should be thinking of ways to stop taxes flowing to feds.
October 19, 2025 at 12:57 AM
Evidence free nonsense. GOP hate doesnt make ME hate my neighbors, does it make you? What is the difference between those it sparks and those who reject it?

Think better.

Dem leaders should speak. Organizing and leading this kind of action is core politics! The low current opinion of Democrats is partly due to its failure to take a stand.

Must be comforting to tell yourself this. Our founders knew that a significant chunk of any population was, as you say, sociopathic. They tried to construct a system that could prove life, liberty etc anyhow. Not working well now, as is not unusal in our history (slavery, reconstruction, etc).
October 16, 2025 at 12:27 AM
“Have been failing…”. Passive voice does a lot of work here. “Republicans have undermined and ruined many institutions” is a more accurate frame.
