::as batons smash into my skull from all sides::
Ruh-roh!

Like I don’t even think the movie realizes it’s doing this because it shows comedians who know what they’re doing crushing it (Carlin, Robin Williams, Drew Carey, Sarah Silverman, Emo Philips, negron, etc)
next to a bunch of hacks who stop the movie cold

This is from The Aristocrats, a movie I still think is one of the most brilliant movies about comedy because it shows how being edgy only works if you understand how to structure and deliver a joke, otherwise it’s a hacky slog

one of the funniest jokes i ever saw was in like 2004 Taylor Negron said "it's just been so hard for us to come together as a nation following the horror of February 11," and when someone asks he follows up with "I left my visa at the Nashville Marriott, it was a disaster"

(I’m sure I mangled the wording but if people want to see it it’s on the extra features of the aristocrats DVD)

Old guard media running to the bathroom to look at 90s headlines saying people want politicians to be tougher on crime to get a fix

A good Halloween costume would be a desktop and you have file icons glued all over yourself

Pro-wrestler Poltergeist talking about his signature move "the ass haunter":

A thing I respect about Poltergeist is that it doesn’t fuck around. Like your ass is haunted scene one.

Like these are actual song titles listed in the review!
Batshit crazy song titles by jay electronica

Feel like I am having a stroke reading this positive pitchfork review of Jay Electronica. “Sure he loves Diddy and Candace Owens and hates Jews and Ukraine but he raps about films he likes and can sound like ODB”

Read Lawrence Burney’s review of the albums.

"you, Mr. Anderson, are perhaps the greatest phony in the history of the united states. what good is a phone call if you...were allowed to speak no longer?"

Sometimes a theme will emerge organically with the movies I pick and this years seems to be “horrifying oral sex”

27. Blood Quantum. On paper a lot of great stuff happening. The focus on an immune reservation puts a fresh layer of context on the usual zombie tropes and leads things to an engaging conflict. Sadly the execution isnt always up to the task

26. 28 Weeks Later. We just could not keep our cameras stable in the 2000s could we folks? A handful of bland elements keep this movie from being great but when things go to shit it packs a punch. The zombies feel truly terrifying as things collapse in a moment

This killer stumbled so ghostface could get rocked in the nuts

I wonder how Benedict Cumberbatch feels about making that movie
