Had a roommate's fireman dad lecture us for hanging a large tapestry in front of ours. He said firefighters might need to cut utilities & not easily see the box if we weren't home. Or conscious! Apts have outside disconnects but ever since he scared the bejesus outta me I play it safe.

I'm an actual paid policyresearcher & gave this a 60 second try...most fridges only go off by unplugging. A few models have a "rest" mode, most don't. Do NOT block fuse box again please! Get someone to put coasters on your fridge bottom so you can pull out occasionally to clean. Or turn off.
