Just dropped off these baskets to the First Congo church in Burlington for JUMP for their silent auction. When they give out the link, I’ll post it.

I’m making cloth and rope baskets now on my sewing machine. I take strips of colorful cloth and wrap it around clothesline rope, then sew it into a basket with a zigzag stitch. Fun and pretty!
Something positive to do while the country implodes.

Rope machine-sewn baskets. Each took a couple of hours. I used my regular sewing machine. It did great! They will be dyed a light green and mailed to family for Easter baskets.

The folks obsessively posting about egg prices for the past few years have gone strangely quiet just as egg prices hit an all-time high.

To keep my hands busy and my mind calm after the election I’ve been working on a very long term project. An embroidery in pointillism. The Outer Bay of Mallets Bay, Lake Champlain, Vermont. The view from camp. I started it close to 30 years ago, put it down, and found it again this summer.

I’m so sad, disappointed, scared, but I know I’m not alone in this. I hope I can hope again someday.

This is the type of embroidery work I want to do! This is wonderful!
I made this one a couple years ago. One of my favorites. #berniesanders #feelthebern #embroidery #tougherthantrump

My kid and their partner Dani (husband Dennis at the stove) in the kitchen during their Christmas visit. They’re both such lovely people and we’re lucky to have them.

I took a sewing class last week to refresh myself on how to run a sewing machine. I’m excited to be able to make pillows out of my embroidery and do more than hand sewing! The Generator off Pine Street in Burlington is excellent!

It’s about right. The week after New Year’s to take down the tree. Down come the cork angels…decorations I had made when we were engaged to fill out our meager tree from old wine corks, yarn and felt. They go up every year to remind us of our beginnings.
