Historically when facing a significant imbalance in power the weaker party had to use diplomacy to protect their interests.

For all their faults Labour are clearly nothing like the Conservatives but it fits the populist lefts narrative to claim so.

Your Party is the first that springs to mind and feels like the Greens are going in that direction as well.
The general discourse amongst those who identify as being the 'true left' frequently claims the current government is just another corrupt elite, indistinguishable from the Conservatives.

40k is probably a better entry to the genre. The Ciaphas Cain books are some of my favourite and introduce you to most of the main factions.
