Shamelessly reposting some of mine because I have early morning anxiety and feel the need to prove my credentials when grumbling about somebody with a much larger audience 😂
An Arctic fox, half-face portrait, black and white A nursing polar bear and almost fully grown cub in front of a calving glacier A walrus, portrait in profile A young reindeer stamping through the frozen ground for food

Magnificent, clear skies this morning and back down below freezing from tomorrow. This weird, damp autumn might finally be breaking into winter.
The first hints of dawn in an almost cloudless sky, over a small town on a hillside

In today's episode of This is Totally a Normal Town:
I have been outside stringing fairy lights on my balcony, ready for several months of darkness. Next door has also been out, hanging out ptarmigan carcasses to dry on hers.

Fun skies today. A wonderful coral sort of shade to the east and the most magnificent sapphire to the west.
A pink and orange sunrise over mountains Strong blue skies over a small town

People hear husky and think of Siberian huskies (and often also malamutes) and, honestly, Alaskan huskies are maybe the best huskies 😜
paisleystars.bsky.social
Alaskan huskies are wonderful because the only consistent traits are big feet, pulls like a demon, likes a good chit-chat. After that, you basically get whatever the person in charge of making dogs felt like drawing that day.

Going to be honest, my reaction was more about your social tact that your geological reasoning. Also, that face slides all the time, just for the record.

It's so nice after so much grey. Fingers crossed your rain clears soon too.
paisleystars.bsky.social
The grey has lifted for the first time in so very long and my goodness it was worth waiting for.
Dramatic pink and orange skies over a small town in the shadow of a mountain

I am a shameless convert to both brunost and the squeeze tubes of kaviar

This continues to be the second worst thing Norway has ever done, after what they did to the doner kebab.
A tub of 'fruktsalat', literally fruit salad. It is grape, pineapple and nectarine, in mayonnaise.

That's the first best kind of snow - the deep, sticky kind you can ski for hours on 😁

I almost missed the flareup, but the lights were back out for a while this evening. #aurora
Swirls of green light dance in the sky, and are reflected in the water of a pond surrounded by the dark black silhouettes of spruce trees

😭 we just have grey! A solid wall of cloud, with occasional snow interludes, for almost two weeks now
paisleystars.bsky.social
We've got the second best kind of snow today - the kind that falls fast on naked ground, doing nothing to smooth out any of the jagged faces of the mountains. Normally, this is a June kind of snow.
Part of a small town, in a valley with a light dusting of snow. A row of snowmobiles stand on near naked ground Part of a small town in a flat, lightly snowy landscape. The background is lost to a cloud of snow

Old Lady Dog is playing with invisible friends that only she can see this morning. Boy Dog has... concerns... 😂😂😂
A large husky type dog, cuddling a person, with an odd panicked-irritated expression on his face.

Different type of gloomy today, but gloomy nonetheless, as we wander right along that boundary between the snow and naked ground

(It's 5°C+ and raining for the rest of the week, so this will be gone again soon)

"As Amy and Kirsten attempt to find the killer, they also find themselves caught in a wider conflict over energy and resources in the polar region"

Slightly poor taste as we all queue up for drinking water and hold energy supply emergency drills in the town they're filming in 😂😂

Not being funny but where the hell would you take a stolen car? 😂 Also the bear threat is waaaaay worse than the petty crime threat

The snow has decided to come back for another go.

(Season? What are seasons?)

There's amazing snow outside and it's just falling on warm, wet ground 😭

Also, I just watched somebody's Instagram reel where they demonstrated how nobody up here locks their homes or cars, by opening the door to my friend's car. I am 100% certain they don't know the car owner.

Don't do that 😂😂😂
