I agree tbh. But it’s always kind of a turn off to see someone who had their own style just copy others. It kinda makes the copying artists seem cheap.

I guess it’s like, I’m more surprised to see people I was already following and was familiar with their art style, suddenly start drawing just like the artists I mentioned above. There’s always gonna be replicas of your work, but it’s such a turn-off to see it happen.

Tbh it’s only natural someone is eventually gonna copy something if it’s popular. It’s part of creations like music and art. But to me it’s super low when an artist you were already familiar with suddenly starts drawing just like other of your fave artists. It’s just so off putting.

Yeah they have been vocal. They expressed frustration and resentment. As you said, nothing is completely original anymore. I’m not really saying it’s BAD to have similar/same art styles, but to me, seeing artists making 1/1 copies of my favorite artists is like a repelent.

I’m all for copying art styles while you’re trying to find your own style, taking inspo from here and there and coming up with your own take. But just straight copying a very recognizable art style just for profit and internet points…idk.

It’s not even funny at this point. It’s usual to see very similar styles once in a while, since nothing is absolutely ground breaking nowadays. But some of the og artists themselves noticed and wrote about it :(

I wanted to talk about something i’ve seen too ofter over at twitter: people copying other artist’s styles. Not even inspired by them. COPIED. Speedoru, Korn, and now Kainonaut.
