one of the things on my demo check list is to make a customizable character (again) but i wanted to build the model from the group up again since i learned a few tricks between it and the last one.

Working on the save mechanic for my game, it’s a save scriptni built a while ago as a default easy to use.

At some point I renamed the file so it didn’t match the class name and spent literally 4 hours trying to figure out what I broke.

figured out sitting, one of the big things i wanted to make sure happened during the "down time" of the game between the "Quests" is that the player character could just sit, you don't control the character they just kinda wander your tavern looking cool, but i wanted them to be able to chill

Something i thought would take quite a while to sort only took a couple hours total.

the player character can now wander the tavern looking at the decorations players have placed, then after a time it will select a new one and move on.

next step... sitting in chairs.

The first 2 quests and their reward/texts, this is where things are going to both speed up and slow down, I am writing out every single quest and their reward texts, trying to create coherent storylines that are legible (other languages will come some day) #gamedev #solodev #indiedev

I think this is the only social media platform that I would still call social, most devoid of an agreeable climate without intense amounts of work to fine tune the algorithms that proved content.

I have the bones of a story ready for my FPS game, mission 1-9 laid out in bullet forms I’ll break them down later into mission beats so each one flows nicely.

But this is going to be a hell of an undertaking, I literally have to start working on this now while I finish up my other game.

little tweaks, added some rough textures and some shelving along the back of the tavern so players have an organized space to display stuff if they don't want to cram it all on tables

welp got the new tavern layout set up, things appear to be scaled correctly so now it's onto developing the player AI.

very sims esc, (thanks to my buddy @notcursedgames.bsky.social for the idea) the players character/s will wander the tavern at first, and eventually they'll be able to give orders
