TL;DR I love cats, and I'm glad they aren't able to tell anyone how much I'm obsessed with them.

On the contrary, some will wait for me to visit them, openly show affection towards me, and even follow after me when I have to leave. They exist in my world, for the time I see them. And even though I don't purposefully try to irritate them, if I did, nobody would know.

Cats can't call your supervisor and say, "this creepy bald dude with a moustache harasses me every day," they don't come up to me and say, "hey leave me alone, I don't enjoy being cat-called."

And the best part is: they can't tell people. If they get uncomfortable, they're just uncomfortable, and if I see them again, I'll baby talk to them again, I'll stare at them again, I'll try to walk up to them again.

But watching cats is a different story. I see so many cats, every day. And most are skittish and cautious. But a lot are also not afraid until you get too close, and unafraid of vehicles, and I talk to them out the window. I stare, and talk, and linger; they react in different ways.

It's like saying every person experiences life equally. It's obviously false; transgender individuals behave and make choices based on their own lived experience, and nobody can tell them that they're wrong. Because they aren't them.
