I just found out that she's the artist behind this sculpture I saw in DC years ago! Thank you for introducing me to her, I'm going to look up a bunch of her art now!
Yayoi Kusama pumpkin sculpture. It's a giant yellow pumpkin with dots of various sizes running along it. The size of the dots seems to correspond with where they fit on the grooves of the pumpkin--larger dots on the convex part, smaller dots on the concave part.

Didn't think I'd need to get my pow board out and waxed in the first half of December, but...here we are. Jay Peak reporting 184" this season, "49 this week, "26 in the last 2 days, and 100 trails open.

If we don't get a freak thaw, this season is going to be legendary.
My snowboard tuning set up: a couple of sawhorses with tiny rubber pieces on top to hold the board in place. I have all my tuning supplies on the dining table next to my setup. The board on top of the sawhorses is a Burton 3D Fish powder board. As the name implies, it very much looks like a fish—a green koi fish in traditional Japanese style is the board graphic, and it has a fish nose and tail in the shape, with fin-like tapers at the very tip. If you're a snowboard nerd like me, you can also tell that it has 3D contouring for extra lift in powder.

Not sure if this is the exact area that's being referenced, but this is what that backcountry looks like under IDEAL conditions. We are currently not at this point, and there's going to be much less snow cover and way more ice on the ground.
Very thickly wooded slope with snow on the ground. I can't even call it a trail, this is just woods that are barely navigable on skis or a snowboard. A slightly less heavily wooded section of the same area. My board is propped against the tree. There's a distinct path through the trees here, but it leads deeper into the woods.
