AIs have created some useful and correct code for me on some occasions and failed miserably (obviously wrong syntax !) in others, with no plausible explanation why one task was easier than the others.
I know of no reason why this problem should go away…

I frequently ask authors what method they used in their literature review if the selection seems random. And you can do the same on public portals like ResearchGate etc. even after a paper is published:-)

Why do journals not require authors to submit the search terms used for their literature research? Would at least force some sort of scientific rigour in the citation market…

Interesting topic indeed. I like PLosone for focusing on correctness not glamour. Or in my field the OpenFoam journal, ensuring code is well documented and results reproducible, something many fancy journals cannot or don’t care to accommodate…
