I'm sure some in the UK would have differing definitions to those I've given😀. The terminology in this field is tricky to navigate, especially for the public (and for some professionals too), which is a problem.

In the UK the meanings aren't the same. Hospice care is palliative care (when provided by a hospice). It can include end of life care but isn't limited to that.

She isn't giving "the nobel prize" in any meaningful sense. She's merely indulging in absurd theatre just like all the other heads of state (nb men) who have stood next to Trump & pretended to respect him. Surely only Donald Trump is stupid enough to think this carries any meaning. Joke's on him.

Doesn't really sound like choking? You still get to breathe. On the other hand I am amazed I have managed to survive ingesting a kipper. I must be the lucky one. I'm going to swap cod for base-jumping.

Hi Ros, I like the video. Seems practical clear and honest. Has a peaceful reassuring vibe too.

Lengthy and important discussions on "organisational opt out" amendments. Setting aside the rights and wrongs of that, interesting to see how many MSPs assume that people currently have an absolute right to have their end of life preference about care setting met.

Topics today, in order (depends on time): training; objections and opt outs/in; advanced (sic) care directives; vulnerable adults; assessments of the terminally ill adults; period of reflection; advocacy services; provision of approved substances (the actual event/process of accelerated dying.
