Amid the sadness of boundless mediocrity that suffocates us from everywhere, I take comfort in knowing that somewhere, in some small room, a few stubborn souls are fighting to eradicate decay and corruption.

All writers are equal, but some writers are more equal than others.

Rereading
On my shelf lays a battered, aged, book—its corners disfigured and its pages wrinkled by the constant, relentless use.

Saturdays are reserved for my Zettelkasten. Today’s topic: the Byzantine Empire and its legacy.

Bluesky seems to be flourishing lately and my feed no longer is inundated by politics. Good direction.

When was the last time you read a book from start to finish?

That was a turning point.

Found this mysterious thing called typewriter in a thrift shop. Adopted it immediately. Needs a new ribbon, otherwise healthy.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the world has been suffering from a spectacular lack of empathy and it keeps getting worse.

This seems to be the narrative over there. I have barely seen any “experts” in my feed talking about mitigation and firefighting efforts.
Old Twitter's mechanisms would have led me to experts on wildfires, water-policy obsessives, and brave photographers who carried their cameras to the edge of danger and beyond. Today's X wants to convince me that LA's catastrophe is all the fault of women and minorities.

One of everyone’s resolutions for the new year should be to take on a physical hobby or learn a trade skill or craft.

I am looking for writers sharing their experiences/research on chronic disease, fibromyalgia, CFS, and other related topics. Any suggestions are welcome.

I’m declaring 2025 the year of writing. Will write more than I have ever written before. This time is for real.

I have been chasing the old Twitter feeling for years. It seemed like an illusion, but Bluesky is promising.

There is so much to read but so little time.

This is how I visualize the recovery process for fibromyalgia, CFS and other chronic disorders. An initial trigger catapults you into the abyss, and from that point onwards, you are constantly traversing a fine line: to surrender or to push on?

A few months ago, I set out to write a book. Every few weeks, I find myself consumed by the feeling of wanting to give up, but then I come across highly successful books of dubious quality and set myself back on track.

Does this platform work the same way Twitter works?
