Congratulations to the #opencode devteam for the release of the desktop app, and for not making it as another vscode fork

With 6.0.8, I closed a huge milestone for radare2 , after 20 years of development (yeah, radare was born in 2006) we are finally leak free! 🥳

To ensure that, a new category of tests for r2r (the testsuite runner of radare2) using Valgrind to ensure not a […]

Some AI agents are doing really fancy stuff, which means more CPU usage for unnecessary animations and refreshes and incompatibility with some terminal emulators. Thing is that i'm still unable to find documentation about things like how to change the mouse cursor or how infinite progress bars […]

Copilot code reviews are quite random, yeah i know llms aren’t predictible and somehow any feedback is better than nothing but i just hope developers know what they are doing when merging patch suggestions, some are good others are just wrong.

For me AI reviews help me focus on some specific […]

Don't believe those who loudly claim email can not avoid metadata! They are ignorant of our continuous works on minimizing metadata:

DONE:

- no phone number other identifying data needed
- no cleartext "Subject"
- no cleartext "To"
- randomized "Date"
- no IP addresses
- […]

TIL /dev/tcp has never been a kernel thing, not even a real file or character device. Korn shell emulate it in the 80s and bash followed in the 90s. So it’s just a shell thing, not even part of posix.

Inferno and plan9 have something similar to do networking with just the filesystem abstraction […]

After a few days off, today I discovered that my iMac (m1) was on recovery mode, with the disk completely empty… Hexdumping the main partition looks like it has been trimmed and there’s no data to recover there :( Still trying to figure out what the fuck has happened… Has anyone faced something similar around here? :_

It’s crazy to see the amount of features to edit pictures in Google Photos that require network.. they can clearly implement them all in local, but you are forced to send all your pictures to their servers soon or late.

Yesterday, vulnerabilities were published https://gpg.fail but they don't affect #deltachat or any other #chatmail client because

A) We never used #gnupg for anything; we use the modern #rustlang #openpgp implementation @rpgp, security audited multiple times.

I bought an android tablet just because of the paper-like screen and pencil support, i was afraid of having just another gadget abandoned in the drawer, but the non glossy screen really makes a difference for reading or drawing and the metal touch feels great in hand.
