One of the biggest references I used for him was this one image of Felix the Cat that looks really uncanny valley looking and odd.

Decided to redesign Cartoon Capture from my game (TFT 3). His old design didn't really give off cartoony vibes, which is essential to his character because he's supposed to be a cartoon come to life.
