Finished with my obligatory printing for the year, so now I can get back to a project I started about a year ago. The type circle is 52 picas in diameter (which is about 8-1/2" for you non-printers). #Letterpress #Mandala #pandemonium.press

Work in progress - some carbon proofs in a “proof-of-concept” assembly. Needs more detail, of course. #Letterpress #Mandala #HandSetType

Hopefully this is the final version. The Octagram (or “Seljuk star”) lockup resulted in an interior pattern that was lacking in elegance, so I went back to the previous version and tweaked it. #Letterpress #Design

I just posted this for Kate Watson‬ ‪@loreandordure.com‬ and thought it might be of general interest to printers for drying small card stock. Cost of materials outlay is ~$30, depending on what wood you use, and the cost of springs. #Letterpress #Printmakers

Test lockup - so I can measure for the triangular furniture I need to make. Also need to cut more small type metal triangles to fill in the form. Once I get a solid lockup, I still may opt to make some more custom furniture. #Letterpress #Typography #Design

Brute force composition in metal type can be like driving somewhere without a map or directions - but It doesn’t matter because you don’t know where you’re going anyway. (I do go down a lot of dead-end roads before I find out where I’m going)… #Letterpress #Typography #Design
