[portrait photo] A young woman with light skin, light brown hair in a loose bun, and bangs smiles softly at the camera. She is wearing a brown sweater and stands in front of a wall with several green potted plants, a framed print, and books on a shelf. The atmosphere feels warm and casual, with natural light highlighting her face. [burnt geometric drawing] A hand-drawn geometric diagram on graph paper shows a symmetrical shape with curved lines, partly burnt through in the center, with glowing red edges and visible flames. The surrounding paper contains repeated printed text in diagonal corners that reads “I WANT TO / SO THAT.” The artwork combines technical precision with destructive fire imagery. [digital tarot-like cards] A grid of 22 vividly colored digital cards resembling a tarot deck, each with surreal biological and sci-fi imagery. Titles include “Two of Space,” “Ace of Flesh,” “Three of Space,” “Powerhouse of the Cell,” “Five of Humours,” “The Disruptor,” “The Keystone,” and “The Fool.” The cards depict abstract organisms, cellular forms, landscapes, and hybrid figures, framed by ornate glowing blue borders, evoking both mysticism and biotechnology. [exhibition poster] A black background poster with a glowing purple circular diagram resembling an astrological chart filled with symbols and geometric lines. White text at the top reads “Esoteric Algorithms and Re-Enchanted Technologies,” curated by Noemi Garay and Arianna Forte. The lower section lists participating artists and collectives, including Crawlers, Danae Tapia, Dasha Ilina, Ginevra Petrozzi, Margarita Athanasiou, REINCANTAMENTO, RYBN.ORG, Tega Brain, and Tommaso Cappelletti & Jumoke Fernandez. A boxed section states: “Opening 16 October to 8 November, panke.gallery, Gerichtstr. 23, Hof 5, 13347 Berlin.”

A glowing, futuristic-style astrological birth chart in circular form on a black background. The chart is filled with zodiac signs, planetary symbols, degrees, and aspects arranged in concentric circles. Bright violet lights highlight the twelve outer positions of the zodiac wheel, while fine white lines and geometric shapes connect points inside the circle, giving it a cosmic and digital appearance. The overall design resembles both a star map and a high-tech interface.

Yesterday I checked out the Rosa Menkman @menkman.bsky.social /Ulrike Gabriel exhibition curated by @pankegallery.bsky.social at Neort++ in Tokyo.

First time to be able to see glitch art in the flesh (besides my own) & was a lot of fun chatting with the Neort++ exhibitor. Well worth seeing

Three people stand in a gallery space, closely watching a video projection on a wall-mounted screen. The video shows train tracks and an old locomotive with a red play button symbol overlaid. The room is minimal, with white walls, a wooden pedestal, and exposed ceiling pipes. A person with braided hair sits on a black chair at a small wooden desk, using a bulky beige CRT computer monitor. They are wearing wide red and yellow pants, a ripped gray satin-like top with exposed shoulders, and long black sleeves. The screen shows a simple text-based interface. The setting is a minimalist room with plain white walls and a gray floor, giving the scene a retro-futuristic feel. Two men stand in the foreground of a gallery space, one using a computer mouse on a wooden pedestal with a water bottle placed on top. The man in a light shirt and black cap has a purple sweatshirt draped over his shoulder, while the other wears a black T-shirt. In the background, other visitors are visible near another screen on the wall.

Two panels of ASCII-like patterns: Black and white computer-generated artwork resembling ASCII art. The left panel shows a dense grid of small characters and patterns forming a blocky, abstract texture with a darker central area. The right panel is more open, with scattered clusters of darker characters against a mostly white background, creating a lighter abstract composition. Forest with bright sunlight: A digital rendering of a forest scene with tall green trees and dense foliage. In the middle, a strong golden-yellow sunlight effect floods the image, creating a glowing burst that partly obscures the view. In the foreground, the silhouette of an industrial structure or machinery is tilted among the vegetation, adding contrast between natural and mechanical elements.

A contemporary art installation in a gallery space. The main wall displays a large digital artwork filled with abstract black and white geometric patterns, QR codes, and map-like symbols, with some bright colored markers. The artwork casts distorted, wave-like light reflections across the surrounding walls. On the adjacent wall, two smaller illuminated pieces continue the abstract theme, while cables and a projector are visible in the corner, emphasizing the digital and media-based nature of the exhibition. A gallery room with concrete floors and white walls covered in projected black-and-white wave-like patterns, creating a digital texture across the space. Several flat screens are mounted on the walls, showing different moving images or text. A white pedestal with a small screen or tablet sits in the middle of the room. Cables run from the screens to the floor, visible against the projections. An exhibition space with abstract blue and silver digital projections covering two walls, showing sharp geometric lines and crystalline textures. Six small black monitors are mounted vertically on the left wall, each showing different moving images, with long black cables dangling down. On the right, a white pedestal holds a tablet and red booklet. Additional projection spills across the walls and floor, immersing the room in shifting light. A close view of two adjacent gallery walls, one covered in black-and-white wave patterns and the other in blue digital abstractions with intersecting lines. On the left wall, a square artwork with a circular glass-like texture and grid of small images is mounted, with a cable hanging down. On the right wall, six small black monitors are arranged in a loose cluster, each showing moving visuals, with their black cables hanging and coiling on the floor.

This is a retrospective of browser-based works from the last decade, from the lens of (or lack of) stability practices on corporate platforms.
A screenshot of a minimalist text-based game interface with a white background and black text. The screen is divided into boxes showing different information: inventory, actions, experiments, past actions, and options like "save game," "journal," "radio," "calendar," and "clock." In the center, a pop-up reads "PUT AWAY CALENDAR" above tally marks representing days. The interface lists items like goose, honey, fish, salt, spiderweb, and others. On the right, actions such as "cry," "piss," "dream," and "listen to radio" appear in blue. At the bottom, the "past actions" log includes events like "drug made crystal," "mud and spiderweb made leather," and "you made dust." A 3D-rendered digital environment of a large circular dome with tall arched windows and beams of sunlight streaming in. The dome's interior is mostly empty, with patches of snow on the ground and a few scattered objects. To the right, there is a dark eagle statue with wings spread. On the left, a rocky formation is visible with mist or steam rising. Several bird-like figures perch on ledges near the windows, and light shines dramatically through the openings in the dome walls. The overall atmosphere feels surreal and dreamlike.

A collage-style digital image composed of multiple smaller pictures arranged in a grid. Most of the images are black-and-white technical drawings, diagrams, and geometric patterns, such as circular gear-like schematics, floral mandala-like designs, and radial charts with lines and numbers. One square in the middle right shows an anime-style drawing of a surprised girl with wide eyes, a small open mouth, and blushing cheeks in faint pink color, which is the only noticeable use of color in the collage. The bottom section of the image is overlaid with glitch-like text and ASCII art from a terminal. The repeated text is in black and says "-bash: ... command not found" several times, with vertical and horizontal lines of ASCII characters scattered across the white background, giving the impression of corrupted or broken code. The overall effect mixes precise technical diagrams, hand-drawn art, and computer error output into a single chaotic composition.

Four speakers sit at a table inside a gallery with white walls covered in abstract light projections. A man in a white shirt speaks into a microphone while gesturing, and the others listen. Laptops, cameras, and lights surround them, while a wall-mounted screen shows a world map with text. In a gallery space, an audience sits and stands facing four speakers at the front. The walls are covered with projections of smartphone screens and digital graphics, creating an immersive environment. People watch attentively from stools and benches. Inside the gallery, a large audience sits closely together facing four speakers at the front. The room is filled with projected visuals on the walls, and a bright projector beam creates a starburst effect across the space, adding to the immersive atmosphere. Four people sit indoors in front of a projected abstract image of water and digital patterns on the wall. On the left, a person with short hair and glasses reads from a booklet at a small table with a laptop. Next to them, a person in a black graphic T-shirt sits with hands folded. Beside them, a person in a patterned long-sleeve top and black boots looks forward calmly. On the far right, a person in a blue jacket holds a cup and sits with a notebook on their lap and a water bottle on the floor. Several small screens are mounted on the wall to the left. The setting suggests an art talk or panel discussion.
