When I taught high school English, each of my tests included one section on a novel each student had independently chosen to read. For the "non-readers," I supplied a list of contemporary "non-classics" not likely to be included on any school's official reading list.

For those bewildered by this and other actions of the new admin., here is a clear through line to follow: anything paid for by taxpayer $ that adds to the bottom lines of corporations and the ultra-wealthy is good; anything paid for by taxpayer $ that benfits the general public welfare is bad.
