I *can* think of Carter 3-ways, but I don't because I like to sleep at night.

Did you also have the extra-weird version of the California 3-way with 4 conductors (neutral, hot, and two travelers) between the switches?

Spiritualism also got a big boost from WWI and the pandemic of 1918 (source: The Witch of Lime Street: Séance, Seduction, and Houdini in the Spirit World, by David Jaher, which I quite enjoyed.)

"Submarining" and "A touch of the 'tism" are the same picture.

Wikipedia sez that TMBG was founded in 1982, REM's first album was in 1983. So at the very least, they didn't start that way.

(Also, this is news to me.)

And then there's an actually long document like ISO/IEC 29500-1. Five thousand pages of somehow still insufficiently verbose text is too much for its tiny little brain and it doesn't even offer to summarize it.

A shame, really. I'd like to see it try.

Him and a few hundred thousand other people.

Can't stand coffee in any form or at any level of dilution, can't stand hoppy beer, love love love dark chocolate. Bitter isn't all the same.

Oddly enough, neither is grindr

Not at all. We've actually interacted before, on Reddit, just after you got the new gig.

I actually found out about Home Assistant from the maker group at MSFT. Someone from Nabu Casa gave a talk about it back around 2020ish.

Can't be. There's literally nothing but trees east of me 'til you get to Baring.

But now I'm curious which ridge. I'm north of Cherry Valley, just barely into Snohomish County.

(FYI, I follow you because of Home Assistant, but we're also both ex-MSFT.)

I'm sure it was hard to bear

My back yard north of Duvall a while ago. The clouds have since gathered, sadly

If Adobe wanted to do something useful, they could use a ML model to generate a table of contents for large documents that don't have one.

Or make a way to go back after following an internal link. Or a way to open a link in a new tab.

But that wouldn't hoodwink the investors like "AI" does.

Sadly, Link uses a catenary wire, so no third rail

Maybe compromise and drop him off the bridge?

And finally:

No surprise, mouse, you scurry so fast
When you see me - mankind is an ass
Be we mice, be we men
Our plans change with the wind
But at least you don't dwell on the past

And another:

Far too busy to die, nonetheless
Die I did, in the sparest of dress
All around, the world spun
The grain soaked up the sun
It's been eons, but feels like much less

And in the same vein:

The dome Kubla Khan said to build
With Xanadu's wonders was filled
But a maid from a dream
Sang a song that would seem
To let me build the same, if I willed

Finally, someone who was actually looking for a partner in crime.
