The thinning of real-world social infrastructure that once enabled teens to build identity, agency, & belonging is to blame, argue @annafreudcharity.bsky.social CEO Eamon McCrory & @ucl.ac.uk PhD student @ritikac.bsky.social.

Digital platforms haven't caused this erosion, but have filled the gap.

She has spent months building a project that offers a calm, creative space for the #Lewisham community, blending #crocheting with #wellbeing support.

This is one of 7 community projects we’re running across #Lewisham this Autumn–Winter, through our @mayoroflondon.bsky.social funded #MyEnds work

We're still exploring what our work in the area will look like. As the partnership deepens, we're learning how we unite to create the conditions that enable our communities to thrive.

What would you like to see invested in/designed that centres help and healing for marginalised communities?

An invaluable and interactive afternoon, inviting new collaborators into the partnership to help shape and steer Harambee’s work.

We want to ensure it stays true to its purpose: building fairer, more caring systems of help and healing, led by and for Black communities across Lambeth and Southwark.

Important work that shows what can be done when young people and youth organisations work together to take action on issues that affect them.

Well done to all the young people in #Lambeth involved in this project.

Thanks for publishing this. A great piece + one that really chimes in with the sentiment so many Black professionals who come to us share. The sense of systems that have not seen, heard and held a huge portion of our community, and the accompanying fire "to rebuild [psychology] honestly". 👏
