These orphaned Virginia opossums are learning to eat solid foods as they grow. In the wild, opossums are omnivores and play an important role in the ecosystem by eating ticks, snails, and even carrion. But fruit is also on the menu—and clearly, it’s a hit!

We took in 25 stray dogs in the last five days alone! We are urgently in need of adopters for our available pups so we can free up kennel space for lost dogs who may enter the shelter at a moment’s notice.

Our dog kennels are almost full, and we need your help. Adoption fees are WAIVED for all dogs and puppies through this Friday, March 28.
We currently have nearly 200 dogs in our care - including 90 emergency boarding dogs whose families were displaced by the Eaton Fire.

Do you recognize this tortoise? They were found wandering through a burned area in Altadena and were very nearly hit by a car when they were rescued by a vigilant bystander.

Residents near the Eaton Fire burn zone (Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre) are urged to stay alert.
