They are a special kind of disgusting, because they don't decry the horrors of war as a moral position but as a useful propagandists vehicle. Any mentioning of victims is always accompanied by "...and that's why we have to give Russia everything they want."

It needs to be said again and again: the replacement of this submarine, which the Russian regime will surely pay and is only required due to the unprovoked war of aggression it started, could have funded multiple schools.

True for Russia and maybe (still) even China, but Europe is lucky to have turned the Baltic Sea into Lake Nato, because no other Russian fleet is surrounded by that much harbor infrastructure that could launch attacks.

What happens in the Black Sea is surely not generally applicable to naval warfare in general, but Europe would be wise to learn some lessons and apply them to the very similar conditions in the Baltic Sea.

It's all performative. He knows that he can play both sides because the EU cannot really punish him and Russia has to go through EU/Nato. The minute the EU would tell Hungary "OK, you're on your own now.", they would become model EU supporters.

If Russia enacts full mobilisation, they can kiss a normal economy goodbye for decades. A full mobilisation would probably see millions of Russian in the prime productive age flee the country. It's not only who's willing to actually fight, but also who's willing to endure the full war economy.

My wife is Russian, most of my friends are Russian. But honestly, we need to stop Schengen visa. We need to drastically lower the hurdles for humanitarian visa and asylum seekers, but we need to stop the tourism visa.

You don't know how bad it actually is. An acquaintance of me is born Russian with German dual citizenship. She recently visited her family and went through questioning at the airport. The officials eventually wanted to recruit her as an agent. This is the type of shit happening every day.
