This week we will continue to revise minerals and will complete as many past paper questions . A 20 minutes allocation each day will support J’s retention.

This week we will continue to revise minerals and will complete as many past paper questions . A 20 minutes allocation each day will support J’s retention.
J has come such a long way. From nonverbal up to almost 8 and struggles to access the curriculum to now having a Grade 4 target for Food Preparation!
J needs support with retention and as a result we engage in home learning to reinforce key concepts taught each week.

Milestones unfolded gradually: potty training at nearly six, repeating Year 1 in a mainstream primary school with an autism resource base (a choice we made as he is a summer born child who was accessing learning well below expected), speaking at around eight, and mastering basic instructions.

When Jadon was born, I instantly fell in love, curious whether he’d take after me in math or his dad in computer science. Autism was never part of the guessing game. Three years later, in Norwich, Norfolk, that diagnosis reshaped our world.

If you’d told me eight years ago we’d experience a moment like this, I might have called it a distant dream, not specifically a request to read “Macbeth”, but because of the journey it represents.

Jadon just said, “Mum, let’s continue reading Macbeth!”, it inspired me to share this moment. Together, we set a 10-minute timer: he reads first, then I revisit the text. We’re using an simplified version (easy read) of the book as prep, and plan to watch the film before he begins studying the play
