To me, basic human rights are non negotiable, and that we've failed to protect the groups that the party has pulled into a culture and identity war by letting the political spectrum shift. We have to get more active and it starts at the community level. Volunteer, donate, educate.

If you don't think this is true, ask yourself why two states voted red but also protected union workers and raised the minimum wage, or why the affordable healthcare act still exists despite overwhelmingly red governments and a supreme Court several times.

I'm tired of pretending like we do not know that these are the answers. The data shows this, and we willingly ignore it because blaming one man is easy. Creating a movement and creating real progressive change is hard.

This can all happen through better business incentives, taxes on the super wealthy, and better organization. We need a #democratic party that actually protects the people, not lies to or ignores them.

In order to protect marginalized people we have to pull society in the right direction to prevent punching down. The national minimum wage needs to rise, workers need more protections, college should be subsidized or free, and healthcare needs to be much more affordable or free.

In order to get out of the rut that America has put us in, we can't just blame #Trump for our problems. We have become apathetic and allowed for conservatism to swing too far to the right while ignoring the working, and arguably the middle class. The anti #woke movement is a distraction.
