[3/6] Sometimes, we have a misplaced sense of control or responsibility. Last year I relentlessly searched for a job, sending out 200 applications and going through 40 interviews. In the end, it all fell through due to a misunderstanding.

[4/6] This reminds me of a Solitaire session in which you can lose for 20 to 30 times in a row. The string of losses includes near-misses, games that are factually impossible, and sometimes you can’t even tell which is which.
