Jinxx is my favorite pyramid game. I don’t intend on rating every game I post but I had to rate Jinxx 😊 it’s great fun and with equipment that comes in the box you can play a whole host of other pyramid games from Homeworlds to Lava Flows and even some of my own creations.

Bag of Ice by J.D. Top is a super simple push your luck game of rolling the pyramid die and pulling pyramids.

We decided to speed things up in this game and removed the pyramid die. That definitely made the game a bit more exciting for us 👍😁👍

Solo mode is pretty neat. It took me about 5 or 6 tries to solve this particular puzzle (last small in the center) and it was really satisfying. There’s a certain gratification that comes from solving a puzzle you made, in so many words, similar to Andy’s Color Wheel.

#Revisit Technically speaking IceSickle is a quintessential Icehouse game which falls within the broader pyramid game nomenclature.

I also discovered on the pyramid wiki that there are quite a few variations including a solo mode 👍😁👍 Glad I posted that link 😉

IceSickle by Dan Isaac is one of those quintessential pyramid games. All you need is 5 trios and a 5x5 board. First, seed pyramids by placing them anywhere on the board. Then sow by jumping a pieces pips worth over other pieces to capture. Such elegance 👍😁👍

Nice play 😁👍 I would do mostly the same except instead of moving the small I would use all of the movement points to get the medium onto the home board. But at that point I think we’re spitting hairs 😊

Amoeba by Eric Oosterwal is a very nice territorial connection game. Big points to be had with proper foresight and alignment. But despite the huge point gaps at times it plays relatively tight in the end 😁👍 This one was won by 1 point.

I was only able to play one pyramid game this week and it was Andy Looney’s Looney Ludo, #theLooneyGameoftheMonth!

Quick and snappy but don’t spoil the fun with too much thinking about your next move. I find some of Andy’s games are best played on rapid fire 👍🔥👍

Game night was cancelled this week so I hooked into a few play throughs of Ross Andrews’ Lonely Ice. And it’s not a bad puzzle game activity in my opinion 😊

Another one of the great characteristics of pyramid games, sometimes they’re not just games 👍😁👍
