I finally did it!
I blew my nose and got all of it!

Finally enough snowfall to see it without a spectrometer. Fort Collins has its first noticeable snow, five hours before December.

Wind-up Turkey Races today. The crowd went wild when Rigby, an 8-year veteran of these races, finally got her first championship!

So many pictures of the northern lights tonight. My eyes can’t see these lights, and my phone can’t capture them. When I was in northern Minnesota they were easy to see just by looking up. My eyes were younger back then.
I feel sad.

K2 to Jyn Erso:
Jyn, I’ll be there for you.
Cassian said I have to.

Each time I see this scene, I am tearfully taken in by this powerful expression of support. And then I laugh when it turns into a teenage brother being told to behave by his dad.

In find this morning that if the screen is fuzzy, and cleaning my glasses doesn’t fix it, and cleaning the screen doesn’t fix it, that rubbing my cornea also doesn’t fix it.

I love it when the dermatologist says there’s nothing to do

For a session of psychotherapy, it was significantly more physiological than expected.

The weather is perfect autumn for the Fort Collins 2nd Friday Drumcircle. Drumming in connection around the fire tonight!

I am trying to have a birthday. There are to many things on fire, dammit.

I got a gaming PC secondhand, and I put it to use despite the fact that the previous owner complained that sometimes died the blue screen of death. I put my faith and a bunch of drives in it, and run Proxmox with 4 full time VMs. It hasn’t panicked on me.

Shocking reminder that non-white Africans keep getting reduced:
For work, I’m watching an industry leader that grew up in Ivory Coast and refers to his upbringing as “in Africa”. He doesn’t mention the country until asked. This diffuses the enormous diversity on that continent. I won’t participate.

I picked up the car at the tire shop, and they were giving away hotdogs, chips, and grapes. I needed lunch food. The hotdog was slow roasted to a shriveled perfection, down to about 2/3 its original weight. It's the most overcooked hotdog I've ever touched.

In the podcast on change and growth, I’d like to distinguish leadership and being out on a pedestal. I want leaders that are comfortable leading, but I don’t want anyone to get comfortable on a pedestal.

I don’t trust wind. Accepting that it’s there is the most I want to give it.

I have often wondered how many different melodies there can possibly be, given the limited number of notes in our common scales (A being 400 or 440 Hz or what-have-you notwithstanding).
This morning, I have wondered how many different song titles there could be of length 1-5 words.

For the occasional insomniac out there, WTF do you do at 5:15 in the morning when your alarm is set for 7:00?

Saying that we need our citizens to possess some level of Critical Thinking Skills creates tension in some, as if it were threatening, for reasons I don’t grok. I’ll settle by asking for Thinking Skills.

It seems cruel to revel in the lack of good play by the Chiefs today. I’m not gonna stop, though.

I have 4 playlists on sound cloud, of music I've made with others. I share a link to a playlist and it can be heard. Apart from that, what is sound cloud useful for?

I work with gaggles of high end IT servers. I have to treat them as pets, tenderly coaching and tweaking them all, until they are nearly identical, at which point I can begin treating them as cattle. When one falters, we pull it into the barn, and either nurse it to health or kill it.

Does anyone remember back when we said that if a car ran as inconsistently as a desktop computer, that nobody would put up with it? It was meant as a commentary about the poor behavior of computers back in the day, and the comparative reliability and consistency of the operation of an automobile.

Heck, yeah, I just use senior citizen parking at Murdochs for propane.

Quite unexpectedly, I have just had the best shopping trip I’ve ever had at King Soopers. Crowds were light (totally didn’t see that coming), and the store was so highly staffed that every aisle had someone stocking and answering questions. Fantastic.
