While audio technologies such as screen readers are instrumental in supporting individuals with visual impairments, they cannot substitute for literacy.

Braille is a tactile system of reading and writing that employs a configuration of six dots to represent letters, numbers, and complex symbols across a variety of domains, including mathematics and music.
