I think Claude has better models than ChatGPT, but their UI looks so bad to me that I prefer ChatGPT.

Start with whatever you're comfortable with. Don’t worry about bundle size or render performance too much, you need to ship features people want.
For starters, you don't start with React if you're building a new thing in the 2020s. You just don't. The browsers its design was contorted to support are no longer in circulation (MSFT doesn't support, and won't sell, IE). Even if you wanted to keep JSX, you can get it at much lower cost w/ preact.

How is internationalization still such a pain in modern development? Sure, libraries like next-intl exist, but it is so much easier to just type in a label directly instead of declaring a variable, and then updating a couple of json files.

I became a dad in July and so far it's been the most amazing, yet exhausting experience ever.
No matter how much you read about it, actually experiencing it yourself is a completely different thing.
