Humans are 66% monogamous... for now. I think that's likely to change significantly in the not too distant future. Younger people especially, seem to have very different ideas about sex, sexuality and relationships. I think this will trend downwards, over time.

Humans cuddle up to meerkats in the monogamy rankings
When it comes to monogamy, humans more closely resemble meerkats and beavers than our primate cousins.

I wasn't considering a visit to Trump's America anyway, but this definitely seals it. There are plenty of other countries that will welcome billions in tourism income, while MAGA insanity continues in the US.
America's loss will be others great gain.

US could ask tourists for five-year social media history before entry
The plan would affect people from countries, including the UK, which can fill out a form in lieu of a visa.

Just heard on the radio that the Christmas Jumper is going out of fashion. 🤔 Strange, as so many shops seem to stock them. Apparently, younger people see them as something Grandfathers and Uncles wear to look "cool" but are really a bit cringe.

A reminder that Farage was STILL engaging in offensive homophobic "banter" years after he left Dulwich College. Not in the 1970's, but in the 2000's. All this whataboutery against the BBC and ITV is a smokescreen to try to distract us from who he really is. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Whatever the rights or wrongs, it's actually not the job of Chris Mason to pass judgement or offer his views. There's far too much of this going on at the BBC now and it's pretty outrageous. It's the job of BBC correspondents to present the facts not to offer opinions.

World Aids Day 1st December.

Remembering with love and kindness all the brilliant people whose lives were tragically and cruelly cut short by Aids. Remembering especially those who died alone in isolation due to moral panic and stigma.

I really hope the banks get slapped with a windfall tax on their profits in the budget. They were bailed out massively during the 2008 financial crisis with all the resulting national debt and it's hard to see how they paid it all back. They're now posting billions in profits, so payback time!

Such a good idea. We live in a terribly confrontational society, where people are often more inclined to pour fuel on the fire and escalate conflict. We need to reverse this trend and build up a generation of peace makers.
Peer mediation can be transformative. It empowers young people to resolve conflicts themselves, and points to the possibility of a more peaceful world beyond the classroom. With the publication of a new report showing its benefits, we’re calling for peer mediation to be mainstreamed across schools.
Quakers call for peer mediation to be mainstreamed across schools in the UK
Educators and policy makers should mainstream peer mediation, Quakers in Britain says following the publication of a new national report showing its positive impact.

Farage says he might have indulged in "playground banter" 50 years ago. I suppose the homophobic remarks he expressed at a 2001 wedding reception was just a further example of playground banter then? He's a nasty piece of work! Apologies for the link to The Mail:

Even when people are volunteering, it's hard to keep them. It's a transient activity for many now, rather than something they're dedicated to. A few months, or a year and many volunteers are moving on. Really hard for charities and groups that invest time and ££ in skilling/training volunteers.

At the tip earlier disposing of some old crap and a guy in another car asks the attendant where to dump carpets.
