The science is clear: no amount of detention is safe for children, especially babies whose rapidly developing brains rewire under chronic unrelenting stress. Some experience physical, even life-threatening harm as well. This is intentional torment that must be shut down. #EndFamilyDetention

A lot of people are thinking about little Liam. Maybe she could think about the hundreds of other children who are still there and do something to end their trauma? Seem to have heard there was a bill coming up….

Totally agree! Close down family detention centers and use some of the $45 billion for building detention centers, including for families, in the OBBBA to fund returning them to their communities with case management and support. As was done under other administrations.

What about the other children and their parents? No child should be subjected to these conditions. Dilley should be shut down and the families released into the community.

He should save some of the funds designated for family detention, close the facilities immediately, and use the funds to support the families in the community.

Liam Ramos is also experiencing stomach pain, vomiting, fever and a complete loss of appetite, made worse by poor-quality food in detention. Attorneys who have visited the facility say the children inside are mentally broken.
