Tammy Duckworth can, & will, make the case that women serve well in combat positions. Mark Kelly can & will make the case for diversity.
But it'd be useful to have a way to ask, "So Mr. Hegseth, you want to get rid of these 1000s of people in area of critical expertise. How will you replace that?"
