Natural History nut
Also the BSBI maps show clusters of records around towns and cities so perhaps there is a bit of recording bias going on and it may be more widely distributed and under-recorded.

Thanks Jo - that's really interesting. Looks like your finds have doubled the number of records for Suffolk! I noticed your records are all coastal or is that just coincidence?

Ah - thanks Alex. My daughter did say that she thought the Norfolk group were looking into Erigeron and thought that you were concentrating on the flowers especially the phyllaries as the main id feature.

These are the hairs on the leaf edge under a microscope - I think they are definitely swollen.

You can see how Suffolk doesn't have many records! I find Poland a bit confusing. I definitely thought the leaf was lobed BUT in the key it comes under toothed so I went off course at that point!

Yes - I have seen Richard's site - very useful.

Probably!

Hi Roger - any idea how frequently this occurs? I must admit I have never noticed it before so must look a bit harder in future!

Poppy?

I like these as artistic "still lifes" as well as catalogues. Looks like the last one is an abstract part of a structure of brick and flint

Well done Roger! - I think I may have found a Spurge Laurel in flower today. Good to meet up with you on Friday.

I try to stick to family and friend posts on FB plus, of course, the really interesting and useful groups of people that share my interests such as Natural History, etc.

I keep well away from there - I think Facebook is pretty bad too!

That would be great - thanks Jo.

Unfortunately I may have family commitments on the 1st BUT would love to join up with your group when you next visit the Brecks next year - found some really nice species this year around Icklingham but have yet to see the Speedwells.

Now that's a great idea - will promote to the newly formed Suffolk group!

Not at all. Too much emphasis is put on the economy and growth which, IMHO, seems increasingly to be at odds with the natural world, human society and individual wellbeing.

Yes - I remember it well along with the Daily Mail's " At last, a Tory budget!"
