... which seems very unlikely here. Isn’t it more likely that police started to hunt a suspect AFTER two teenagers were stabbed at a London school? Deepest respect to their families and all that, but this public illiteracy really gets up my nose. I’ll go further: it gets on my tits.

Look – I know this is a sad and serious story, but that word “as” is being abused as only a journalist knows how. And we see it all the time. Or maybe that’s the point: not by a journalist, because newspapers hardly employ any now. “As” suggests two things happening at the same time...

Heading, subheading and partial opening paragraph identical: the format of Independent posts on here is really annoying. Especially when there's a spelling mistake that you have to read three times!
