As put by a researcher on distracting driving at Carlton University: “you may as well take out a gun and start shooting people”

Blunt messaging and strict enforcement reduced drunk driving … time to get as serious about distracted driving

… the other lower middle incisor - which still had some sensitivity - was considered to be a poor candidate for any type of root repair

Then, to a periodontist who recommended removing all four to limit any further spread and provide a solid base for implants

30 years after faced with huge dental

Strangely, in the run up to extraction, there was *no* pain

I noticed a small lump on the inside of my gums (just below the affected teeth)

My dentist suspected “resorption” and sent me to an endodontist

Imaging revealed significant root loss and one was deemed “necrotic” (dead) … /2

They should’ve gotten a venue and sold tickets

Fully agree!

Watched a driver wave away their right-of-way to another vehicle - who then proceeded to nearly whack a pedestrian who wasn’t privy to their “agreement”

The Crown better not drop the ball on this

Far too many scofflaw drivers are getting away with dangerous sh*t knowing that even if they get charged, nothing will come of it

It took 30 years, but I recently had to have my lower incisors removed because of “root resorption” resulting from being thrown from my bike and leading with my jaw into the asphalt to avoid being creamed by a pickup truck

Exactly! The blunt force from a flat-fronted vehicle would - even at that speed - have inflicted severe trauma

And to make it even worse, rather than being thrown “up”, should would’ve been pushed down and underneath the vehicle

If not killed outright, she would’ve had a very long period of rehab

I can at least keep my awareness of which vehicles are likely to splash me if we’re on the same street

But there’s no preparing for getting splashed from the traffic on Nicholas above

The one type of pedestrian infrastructure that #Ottcity excels at creating?

The type that causes giant puddles to form at crosswalks

Flattery … deal with it 🤪

They have no idea of how the system they have responsibility for actually works

You’re too young to remember the TC days … but it used to be like that here too

But, every time they get close to privatization down there they get cold feet because there’s be no more lobbing money at their MIC
paul-pothier.bsky.social
Don’t mind me … just rolling around this nicely carved corner on my right turn, beating all that other cross traffic while my light is red and they haven’t started to move yet (sterile intersection don’t ya know) … just like in my Miata

I hear Belgium is nice 😉

Yeah, I know, I still owe you a coffee

Generally speaking, inside the greenbelt wants to see significant changes in how this city is run

Outside the greenbelt always seems to be a different story

Perhaps because the entropic breakdown in infrastructure has not yet paid visits to their new-ish streets, sidewalks and community facilities

Oh … QED’s always open to bikes

The main reason most people choose not to ride there (when it’s open to cars) is that it’s become lawless space
