Been using Linux for at least 10 y now and everything works.
Had issues with an external WiFi adapter but now its driver is in the kernel.
Not all games work but there's a good reason for that and probably it will change sooner than later.

I have an HP laptop with an nVidia 3050, and everything is working as expected after the last update

I've heard that bazzite bazzite.gg is a good choice for gaming

First of all, you need to know not every game works on #Linux, especially if the game has an anticheat that requires access to the kernel.

I switched in January to using Linux full time at home. Gaming was the only thing holding me back. It is almost perfect now. I am using LMDE.

Get the heck off windows completely. Alot of stuff has either a Linux version or a good Linux alternative. I just put bazzite on my gaming only pc and its literally just a steam machine now. So happy I got off windows.
