The president can only influence prices; he can't control them. Oil is a global commodity, and prices are based on projected supply/demand

It may degrade America, but it's still not quite as bad as having re-elected Donald. That was a direct hit to America's reputation. Everything following has been a direct result, slowly chipping away at what remains.
