Today, I share "Being Human," the last painting of my 30-day challenge. Thirty paintings in Thirty Days 'Being Human' Day 28: 'All the World is a Play' This painting and its title was inspired by Shakespeare’s profound quote, “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.” In this caricature painting, I thought about the theatrical nature of human existence and how we all take on different roles throughout our lives. Each role starts and ends, and a new act of the play begins. Shakespeare wrote these words in his play "As You Like It " which showed us performative aspects of life. Each phase of life brings its own stage, childhood, adulthood, old age, and with it, different characters that we portray. Being human means embracing our roles fully that we play at these different stages of our lives. We wear masks in different situations and play along with the expectations and narratives set by society. This painting expresses the beauty and sometimes crazines of our performance, the laughter, the heartaches, and the lessons learned through the act of living.

Days 'Being Human' Day 27: 'Kaleidoscope' Today, as I reveal my caricature painting, I want you to reflect on a powerful truth; we are more similar to each other than we are different. This vibrant piece highlights that beneath our unique exteriors, we all experience love, joy, sorrow, and connection. The contrasting colours represent the diversity of our backgrounds, yet they come together to form a coherent whole, a vivid, and visual reminder of our shared humanity. Here’s why I believe we’re interconnected: Regardless of our backgrounds, we all feel happiness, sadness, anger, and love. These emotions bind humanity together, making us more alike in essence. The other caricatures peer in from the edges and symbolize the many perspectives we encounter in our daily lives. Each gaze projects a narrative; the curious, the indifferent, the judgmental, or the empathetic. This piece challenges us to consider the importance of perception in our interactions. The lips, painted in vibrant red, not only draw attention but also symbolize the voice of emotions that often go unexpressed. It reminds us to listen to the words that are not spoken. Do we truly "see" what others are experiencing? or are we blinded by our own narrative.
