The natural amphitheater of lake Rummel is a stunning place, it sits at 2220 meters of elevation and is situated in the Spray Valley Provincial Park. The lake was named after Elizabeth “Lizzie” Rummel an explorer, environmentalist.

In the eyes of many, in winter, the male Northern Cardinal often steals the show with its deep red colours, but I find that the female Cardinal’s more subtle colours to be as pleasing, if not more. Your thoughts?

Great Grey Owls are amazing. A Great Grey Owl can effortlessly balance on the top on a dead tree while turning their head to look behind them.

Spooked by crows, this Great Grey Owl leaves its exposed perch to seek shelter amongst the branches of a pine tree.

Photo taken last week. This poor Owl was harassed and chased around by a murder of crows and a pair of Ravens. After about 40 minutes of intense activity he managed to get get away.
