"Migrants" is not how you spell "markets."

Friend of mine used to use a Sun pizza box as an office space heater.

Its crazy that they just hand that stuff out.

How long ago was the same thing said about Jewish people? Or Italian? Or Irish.

Where would New York be without the influence of these people coming to the City to become part of the United States?

Old problem. New tools.

Oh heck. The US has an economic, cultural, and geopolitical footprint that's globe-sized. One doesn't have to have direct ties to be tied to the fortunes of the United States.

Comment away.

Some people increase the competency of a group by their absence.

Not wrong. I think the admission is that these instincts are always present and there are always people who seize on them. But at no point should we allow validation as this path always, always leads to dark places for any society that validates them.

The wildcard is whether the cult of personality survives the loss of its figurehead.

Yeah - it doesn't all go poof. But whats there now has always been there. It took a particular personality to give it power.

I mean... there's worse creators to watch.

Huh. Does Bob Ross act as a good go-to-sleep audio?

Side note: this quote comes from an interview where Buffett notes that the wealthy used their influence to get a favorable tax code.

www.nytimes.com/2006/11/26/b...

> “How can this be fair?” he asked of how little he pays relative to his employees. “How can this be right?”

They'll get it. Maybe more than we did. For us, the religious killjoys picketing the movie were on the streets, not in the Whitehouse. It might hit harder now.

(FWIW the few times I've seen it pop up, folks have liked it.)

I look forward to a wave of YT reactors.

TTRPGs aren't a spectator sport. There's a very different feel watching the table than sitting at it. The rule breaker is skilled performers - entertainment chops. The ability to broadcast feelings and draw an audience in to the vibe. That's a skill for sure.

They can't offer you a "peace prize" if you kill them.
December 8, 2025 at 3:42 AM
There are many players. Putin wants to undercut US influence to give him room to establish an empire legacy. China wants to unseat US influence on the world stage and fill the void. But this misses the Dark Enlightenment money funding replacement of democracy with a feudal system of kleptocrats.
December 7, 2025 at 5:52 PM
Wow. Did Trump die and nobody told him... or us? This makes a lot more sense.
December 6, 2025 at 2:37 AM
All that "peace plan" bullshit from the Whitehouse? The US has no leverage to force Ukraine in to an uneven deal. Trump gave it all up. Europe has picked up the ball and has no desire to see a weakened Ukraine become the invasion gateway in to the rest of Europe.
