I worked in avionics for about 4 years and while it by no means makes me an expert, I’ve been on a helicopter and done a bunch of sims including rescue stuff. It’s challenging to balance a helicopter and even more so with dead weight hanging from a string.

I know that feeling. Unfortunately for me it all went to shit just as feared!
