Strong agreement and continuity amongst model data for a while now we're heading back into the freezer later this week (~Wed) and staying there for a while with an extended run of below normal temps (normal hi/lo for MSP early Jan is 24/10). Persistent East Coast trough/West Coast ridge. #mnwx

Why was it so warm in the Twin Cities yesterday (record high of 47 °F tied, low of 32 °F just shy of record 34 °F)? Air streamed in off the North Pacific, a relative source of warmth for us. #mnwx
