So much is being said about feminine unrest that the fact that there is a very considerable masculine unrest is being overlooked; or is it that our attention is being artfully and deliberately diverted therefrom?

Are Men Less Masculine?
Dr. Charles Gray Shaw, professor of philosophy at New York University, thinks that man is becoming more effeminate. It is a charge frequently made and it has this advantage. It is quite as hard to disprove as to prove. Some classes of men, probably, are becoming more effeminate, just as others are becoming less effeminate, and whether the one trend overbalances the other it is quite impossible to say.

The professor reasons that women are now in business in great numbers, getting men's pay, with, consequently, less dependence on men's purses and thus less enterprise by men to keep the purses properly plethoric.

Men Are Becoming Less Manly, Scientist Thinks

Men today are not as roughly masculine as they used to be, according to Dr. Edward K. Strong, of Palo Alto, California, noted psychology professor at Stanford University. He set forth this conclusion in an article in the current issue of the Journal of Social Psychology.

The only he-men are engineers and farmers, he stated in an account of a survey of divisions of interest among the sexes.

But if you are a minster, a lawyer, a doctor, a writer or a newspaperman, you have feminine interests, which have become stronger with each generation.

Answer: Yes, according to psychiatrist Ralph R. Greenson. "As women have become more assertive and daring," he told an AMA meeting, "men have become more passive and timid; more apathetic and lethargic." Another factor, he said, is the typical middle-aged man's notion that he must be protected from any undue stress and strain. Q: Are men less manly today than they used to be? How?

Brett: I'd say yes. We read about men, particularly younger men, from the 19th and early 20th century, and we're just amazed by their maturity and resolve. They seemed to have quiet confidence that many younger men lack these days. Men from our fathers' and grandfathers' generation also seem to know more basic life and handyman skills, such as how to start a fire to how to use tools, than men in my generation do.

Men are sick and tired of being suffocated, manipulated and financially plundered by females who have been taught by their mothers that they have some special sexual gift that entitles them to total control over men's lives.
