This was always going to be the problem with electing (and I use this term kindly) an ignoramus. His supporters used to say, he can hire smart advisors who will give him sound information. At some point, however, a president has to know enough to ask good questions and exercise sound judgment.

An attack by the United States on Greenland would be in violation of at least two treaties that the US is party to, treaties which are the supreme law of the land (Art. VI). Absent an attack on the US, Trump does not have the authority to invade Greenland.

No, authoritarians retain power not by canceling elections but by having elections that appear legitimate but aren’t. So, for example, they change postmarking procedures so that ballots aren’t postmarked the day they’re mailed.
