First two weeks of my new weekly Patreon comic is up and are free to read (the black and white and green version will be free, but parallel to that I’m doing a full colour version for patrons) come follow along at Patreon.com/pauljholden
Page 1
Terran omega

Four panels, all black. Deep space. Our camera doesn't vary, we are looking at a tumbling space ship, a salvage ship.

Panel 1. Behind the ship, In the background is a small thing that looks like a google map pin.
Caption: ++REPEAT ++ SALVAGE SHIP RESPOND ++
Panel 2 the ship continues to tumble. The pin is much larger now, about the same mass (if not shape) of the tumbling ship
Caption ++SALVAGE SHIP THIS IS BLACK OMEGA ++ PLEASE RESPOND ++
Panel 2
The ship continues to tumble the Black Omega, is now very largely, cropped by the panel, still behind the tumbling ship and obviously larger than it.
Caption: Nothing
Caption: No response. Ship appears to be dead.
Panel 4
The tumbling ship remains, surrounded it now is the centre of the Black Omega, the ship so large it now dwarfs the little scrapyard junker.
Caption: But... I am detecting three lifeforms.
Caption: I can send a drone...? Page 2-3

Double page spread. Left hand side a large full page panel. Terran omega floating in space. An armoured heroic looking character carrying a staff of pure light and wearing a helmet that’s a cross between dr fate and galactus. Floating behind here (and where’s she’s flying towards) is a large chunky salvage ship (which is big and blocky and has two very obvious hands for gripping salvage)
Terran Omega : "No, I think I'd like to do this myself"

Second page has a column of panels.
First: Terran omega flying towards a door (she flies gently while standing)

Second; her hand reaches towards the door and is cracking with energy

Third: her helmet and staff now inside the airlock of the ship
Terran: I'm inside
Terran: ...
Radio: *static*
Terran: Hmmm... on my own.
Terran: Ok

Fourth: she’s walking carefully down a corridor filled with smoke
Terran: Now. Let's look around.

Oh yeah, but *in general* it’s basically maths, and that HAS been round for a long long time…

It’s not here to stay it’s here until it hits an impossible to meet critical mass of adoption before the money runs out and all those server farms get turned off at which point it’ll get even more useless than it already is, a cascade failure that will turn every one off it. Ai winter is coming

Jason Blum's take on AI sucks. an AI takeover isn't inevitable, and treating it as such (while also referring to filmmaking as "content creation," smdh) helps AI companies promote the lie that their deeply unprofitable, destructive tech is more powerful and useful than it actually is.

It replaced vegetarian in that sentence. They have great veggie options too!

Great food if you’re gluten free with a surprisingly good certain menu most people don’t know about because it’s so focused on chicken.

He had a less rendered period, closer to his early work in b&w comics than this sort of harks back too

Decayed websites for tv shows that still work is like turning up old doctor who recordings in somebodies barnyard.

I will be using qr codes to send people to my Patreon and printed matter with the qr code. But when the book is finished the book will be the book. No web links just my name (i mean you could google me but even google is becoming a big pile of waste)

Very much the dead internet. All those comics marvel did with ugly great big AR symbols on top of gorgeous art, evey qr code on the back of every book. All now filled with the equivalent of digital landfill.

Yikes. Just got a message from my child’s school: some children’s books by Andrew Cope (inc. Spy Dogs, Spy Cats, and Spy Pups series) have a printed URL at the back. This used to go to the author’s website, but now goes to an “adult content” site.

So, yeah… be careful with that URL 😳

Not been a single still image of any live action spider-man that can defeat these images.

It’s been years since I read 1964’s Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1. Crikey but Steve Ditko was at the top of his game. Visually, I can’t help but believe it’s the definitive Spidey. If such a thing exists, it exists here. (*1)

That’s me and my brother. This weekend. He got married (me to the left-he’s 25 years my junior)
Me dressed in a tuxedo with my brother. Both smiling were in doors in front of a bay window. There’s a chandelier behind us too. It’s very low. We are not tall.

I will post the pages here much later (and my scripts are useless as alt text because I don’t always follow the script and why the script calls for is written as a note to self whereas the art is the art and will need more in it. I usually write the alt in an app and copy and paste cus it’s easier.

I think there’s the “i don’t have a Patreon account and I don’t want one” and there’s the “i only see stuff if it comes up on my timeline and will read it if it’s there but not if it’s not” problems.

Is this your official out of orifice message?

I am tempted to create this 80s superhero indie comic. Dunno if he’d be Mooman, The Dark Udder or THE COW.

I guess I’m just lucky. (Also no algorithm here - I just follow LOADS of people and they churn up wonderful stuff (er no pun intended))

I feel like this is some dedicated cosplay for an a weird indie superhero comic that came out in the black and white comics boom of the 80s.
