I had a lovely time catching up with two of my dearest friends last night, Valerie and Jason. She gifted me a beautiful painting she had recently made representing my recent struggles and challenges. It is a tree that, though worn down by years of toil, continues to bloom with love and joy anyway:

Today we say farewell to our sweet Jake as he crosses over the Rainbow Bridge. You came into our lives and loved us so unconditionally and completely. We will love you forever and always, Jake from State Farm. You weren’t just a good boy to us. You were the very best boy.
