I had one pretty much thrust on me at the Unite rally. When I met my daughter and her friends for a beer afterwards, they were horrified. It's not just boomers with the visceral response.

This is a definite #wewantplates moment. Dear me...

I lived in Fenham for a while in the mid 80s, and even then it was home to a myriad of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi etc families and shops. And the Toon has only got more multicultural in the 40 odd years since. It's great!

Moon over Sevilla taken with a Pixel 7 pro. Not bad.

Bastard windy, but very blue at home.

No problem! No reaction at all. And she was very skilled with the needles - I'm not a fan, but I barely felt a thing.

It took 2 or 3 years in the UK. Even Thornbridge resisted canning for a while.

Last time I was on a ferry was across the Bosphorus to Asia! I doubt South Shields is that exotic 😀 #Tyne

I've just had smoked sardines and mushroom omelette. Delicious!

It's hard to do after a lifetime of support, but this sorry apology for a government is driving me to cancel my direct debit. They're an embarrassment.

Starmer has to go, or I'm tearing up my Labour Party membership card. Disingenuous shite indeed!

Just about perfect breakfast there! 🤤

I'm guessing you used beef stock by the colour? That is traditional, but I had some chicken scraps lying around, and got a lovely golden stock from those. Different, but just as good.

I made similar last week. Bay leaves and marjoram, just cos they're in the garden, but otherwise it's simplicity itself 🤤

10 straightaway. Are there more?

Originally an office block, part of Terry Farrell's (RIP) PoMo East Quayside master plan, now the Dakota hotel, looms over the coloured beams of an exercise/play construction by the River Tyne.

Some have both, but they're mainly brands from Ukraine/Poland/Baltics/Iceland. Mostly very good in my experience.

There's sprats, herring etc too, no shortage of oily fish 😃

Sorry, "here" being NE6, Newcastle upon Tyne, in case you were confused!

Ok, a quick Google suggests:

"There is a current shortage of sardines in UK supermarkets, primarily due to supply disruptions from Morocco, where a major source of the UK's supply is located."

Local Morrisons hasn't had any sardines for many weeks, and I've no idea why. I can still get slid in Polish and Latvian shops here.

Aw, what a lovely photo. Me and my daughter Molly having a little hug after her shift in @thefreetradeinn.bsky.social last night.

Don't leave them too long, as they just turn into a bag of spores! You want them young and firm to the touch.

Looks like a common puffball from here. I used to pick these with my grandmother and fry them in butter for breakfast. Delicious! 🤤

Got my double jab booked for this afternoon. One in each arm, and I had no reaction last year, so fingers crossed 🤞🏻
