Thanks for giving us something interesting to listen to in good times and bad. Happy New Year and up the County.

How good does that feel.

Bring us some luck tonight!

Das ist das beste Team aus Newport County seit Jahren. Das hat mir Huw gesagt.

It struck me this morning that I was too embarrassed to put my County tracksuit top on. I’ve not felt that way before.

I turned the TV off and said, ‘I am just going outside and may be some time’.

I’ve seen enough. I’m out.

No professional sports person likes losing, so I hope they treat Saturday’s game like a cup final and have to be picked up off the pitch in exhaustion after a 1-0 win. Pack the Parade: it’s time the fans got something in return for their loyalty.

As we’re dealing in the realms of fantasy, I was thinking to myself yesterday, and someone actually voiced it behind me, would it be worth converting CBR into a centre back? We need to do something about both defence and attack and this could be an answer to both.

That’s the spirit! PS I have this nice bridge you might want to buy.

I wish Christian Fuchs all the best but, while we may have the financial wherewithal to survive as a club at a lower level, it looks like we’ve already gone out of business on the pitch.

An experienced manager with significant knowledge of lower league football and a black book of contacts envied at this level. It’s what we’ve been asking for since the departure of Graham Coughlan. Surely no one can doubt our ability to push on now. County for the play offs!!

Don’t panic, we’ve signed MacIntyre, Treadmore and Davitt.

I still think this team can raise its game to a degree but it needs experienced management, pragmatic tactics and some bolstering in key positions. The next incumbent needs to persuade HJ in an interview that the team needs experienced management, pragmatic tactics and bolstering in key positions.

Win against Oldham and we’ll get Lee Kendall.
November 17, 2025 at 9:21 PM
Would taking on Derek Adams be the managerial equivalent of us signing Kevin Ellison as a player? Ellison achieved redemption; is it time for Adams to seek forgiveness?

You saved yourself paying £26 to watch parks football.

We looked tactically inept after around 20 minutes today. There’s no plan B and a pretty limited plan A. It’s clear that Hughes hasn’t been supported effectively, which is why fans are directing their ire at Huw Jenkins. However, I think Hughes deserved to go after today’s poor performance.

‘If you can meet with triumph and disaster. And treat those two impostors just the same..’ then it’s safe to say you won’t have been watching Newport County at home for the last seven months.

The EFL Trophy win against Cardiff seemed to raise confidence and a cup win tomorrow, against a side we lost 3-1 to a short time ago, could elevate confidence further. However, despite being an advocate for the FA Cup, the circumstances of this season make it seem like a bit of a distraction.

Cheltenham beat top-of-the-table yesterday. There’s no doubt it was a poor performance against them last week but they look like they are a good team who were waiting for the right inspiration. This does two things: it lowers Michael Flynn’s currency and provides some perspective for our defeat.

Something gritty and relatable like, ‘fight Harrogate like someone knocked your pint over in Wetherspoons’.

Bring him back at half time to tell the players that this is their cup final, their chance to rise above current circumstances and to counter the odds by winning as a team.
