Bean Leaf Roller moth. Switched the outdoor light on about a week ago and there were hordes of them. Never saw this before or since. Russell island.

The majestic Scribbly Gum tree, inextricably linked to the Scribbly Moth. The ‘scribbles’ on the bark are marks made by the moth. The 2nd through 4th picture are spots where the moth has been dormant before emerging as an actual moth.

Brahminy Kite near Sandy Beach Russell Island. This fine fellow has roosted in this tree on and off for at least two years. This was in his heyday, looking a little battered nowadays

Curry Punk fungus, perfect weather for fungi on Russell at the moment. Curry Punk tends to grow on burnt wood and with the winter burn offs last year is in abundance atm.
