Five years ago today, Donald Trump urged his supporters to attack Congress and the Capitol over a proven lie. More than 140 police officers were injured.

Trump then pardoned the attackers.

He betrayed his oath and his country, and we won't ever forget it.

The President is pounding late night comedians again, demanding their punishment and threatening to revoke the broadcast licenses of their networks. The play is not new. Historically, authoritarians have gone berserk whenever they've become the butt of a joke. medium.com/@paul-oestre...

The mainstream media loves making it seam like dysfunction in Washington is coming from both parties.

Hello?

Much of the GOP no longer accepts the rule of law, or the norms of democracy, or the legitimacy of the opposing party.

Enough of the false equivalence.

Compare the malignant narcissist’s coin to the "We Are One" currency designed by Benjamin Franklin in 1776. The founding fathers built this country on a “social compact” governed by “laws for the common good.” Our leaders must remember that we are all in this together.

Good piece, but it leaves out politics. Many on the far-right undercut research and education funding, trust belief over evidence, and demonize science and scientists. We've become less scientifically literate and less able to evaluate even the most basic information. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/03/o...

The thesis here is fundamentally flawed. “The NIH is in crisis” because politics and ideology are steering how science is funded (or isn’t) and how outcomes are communicated (or not). Don't make it about one camp vs. the other. Good science doesn't care. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/22/o...
